Hanover, Germany — September 10, 2026 | IAA Transportation 2026 is underway in Hanover, Germany, and Chinese commercial-vehicle manufacturers are making their presence felt across every hall. From heavy-duty tractors to urban delivery vans, from battery-electric powertrains to hydrogen fuel cells, the Chinese contingent is demonstrating that “going global” now means bringing complete technology portfolios, not just vehicles.
SINOTRUK: Five SITRAK Models for Global Markets
As part of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, SINOTRUK has brought five SITRAK models to Hanover. The lineup covers electric and high-efficiency diesel powertrains across tractor trucks, cargo trucks, dump trucks and high-end light trucks. All vehicles are designed for applications ranging from long-haul logistics and urban distribution to construction work. They also feature the upgraded “Xiaozhong 2.0” intelligent service system, combining smart cockpit functions, electric power-system management and digital fleet management.
FAW TRUCKS: Five Vehicles, Nine Core Components
FAW TRUCKS is displaying five complete vehicles and nine core components, covering five powertrain technologies: diesel, natural gas, hydrogen, battery-electric and hybrid. The display is designed to show how FAW matches different commercial-vehicle applications with the right energy solution.
BYD, Foton, Dongfeng and SAIC Hongyan Expand Offerings
- FOTON is unveiling its new European strategy and the overseas debut of the CAVAN BEACON intelligent heavy-duty truck, available in battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell versions.
- BYD Commercial Vehicles is debuting a new 4x2 electric tractor built to European specifications, with a lightweight design and a new high-voltage platform.
- Dongfeng is showing three hydrogen-powered vehicles and a 400-kW fuel cell making its global debut.
- SAIC Hongyan is making its IAA debut with the eDELIVER 420L (eTruck), a new-energy heavy-duty truck developed for overseas markets.
Beyond Vehicles: Ecosystem Exports
What stands out at IAA 2026 is that Chinese companies are no longer only exporting trucks. They are exporting scenarios + technology + operating models — including charging infrastructure, fleet management systems, battery-swapping networks and financial support. This “package output” approach is helping overseas customers begin operations faster and with lower trial-and-error costs.
